Ana Micov graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade in 2007. She defended her doctoral dissertation Antinociceptive effect, mechanism of action and interaction of levetiracetam in models of somatic, visceral and neuropathic pain in 2013 under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Radica Stepanović-Petrović and won the award of The Belgrade Chamber of Commerce in the category of the best doctoral dissertation for 2013/2014 school year. She completed specialist academic studies in Pharmacotherapy in pharmaceutical practice in 2019.
She has been employed at the Department of Pharmacology of the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Pharmacy since 2008, first as a teaching associate (2008–2011), then as a teaching assistant (2011–2016) and assistant professor (2016–present) for the narrower scientific field of pharmacology. She participates in the preparation and implementation of theoretical and practical classes in integrated academic studies in the following subjects: Pharmacology (1, 2 and 3), Pharmacotherapy, Pharmacotherapy in pediatrics, as well as classes in specialization of health professionals (Pharmacotherapy and Pharmaceutical Technology), specialist academic studies (Pharmacotherapy in pharmaceutical practice) and doctoral academic studies. She is the head of the special academic studies, module Pharmacotherapy in pharmaceutical practice. She is the co-author of the basic textbook Pharmacotherapy for pharmacists.
Ana Micov's field of research is the pharmacology of pain. The objectives of the research activity is aimed at improving pain therapy through preclinical screening and identification of new alternative analgesics, optimal combinations of alternative/standard analgesics and evaluation of improved formulations of existing analgesics. So far, she has published 28 scientific papers in journals from the SCI list, as well as a large number of professional papers and announcements from gatherings of national and international importance. She is a researcher on a scientific project of the Serbian Science Fund (The Program IDEAS: Fight_PainAndComorb) and on an institutional funding project at the Faculty of Pharmacy by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.
Ana held several lectures and workshops by invitation, organized by SFUS, SFD and NAPSer. She participates in the realization of extracurricular activities of students.
