Dr sc. Duško Mirković was born on July 22, 1960. years in Zemun. He finished elementary school and high school in Belgrade, and in 1979 he began his studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade, where he graduated in 1984 with an average grade of 9.16. In the same year, he began his obligatory internship in the biochemical laboratory of the Clinical Hospital Center; Zvezdara, which he completed after completing his military service in 1986. He enrolled in postgraduate studies in Medical Biochemistry in 1987, and defended his master's thesis entitled Unesterified Fatty Acids in Acute Myocardial Infarction in 1992. He defended his doctoral dissertation entitled Homocysteine ​​as a risk factor for coronary heart disease in 2004. Dr sc. Duško Mirković, who has been working at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade since 1986, was immediately involved as an assistant-trainee in conducting practical classes in the subject of Medical Biochemistry. After defending his master's thesis in 1992, he was elected an assistant and involved in conducting practical classes in the subjects of Medical Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Enzymology for students majoring in graduate pharmacist - medical biochemist. Also, since 1992, he has been involved in conducting practical classes for candidates in the health specialization in Medical Biochemistry. As a teacher, as an assistant professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy, since 2008 he has been involved in teaching integrated academic studies in compulsory subjects Medical Biochemistry in both study programs (Pharmacy and Pharmacy-Medical Biochemistry), as well as in teaching compulsory courses Clinical Chemistry with Molecular Diagnostics and Introduction to Medical Biochemistry, as well as elective courses Endocrinopathy of the Reproductive System and Biochemical Methods in Prenatal Diagnostics in the study program Pharmacy-Medical Biochemistry. Also, Dr. sc. Duško Mirković also participates in conducting practical classes of specialist studies for the needs of health in the program of specialization-Medical biochemistry as well as narrower specializations-Laboratory endocrinology. In 2013, he was elected Associate Professor, and re-elected to the same title in 2018. Since 1988, he has worked in a single employment relationship at the Institute of Medical Biochemistry of the Clinical Center of Serbia (now the Center for Medical Biochemistry), where since 1994 one of the departments of the Institute, and in the period from 1998 to 2002 he was the Head of the Laboratory of the Center for Emergency Laboratory Diagnostics. Since 2020, he has been working at the Faculty within the Department of Medical Biochemistry, and in the Laboratory for Biochemical Analysis.
