Vladimir Savić je rođen 1963. godine u Kotoru. Završio je Hemijski fakultet u Beogradu, gde je i odbranio magistarsku tezu. Doktorirao je na Školi hemije Univerziteta u Lidsu, Engleska 1994. godine. Tokom 1996/1997 i 1999/2000 godine bio je na post-doktorskim studijama u Centru za molekulske inovacije, diverzitet i automatizovanu sintezu, pri Školi hemije Univerziteta u Lidsu. Od 2000. godine radi kao glavni istraživač-vođa tima u kompaniji BioFocus Discovery Limited (Kejmbridž, Engleska), a 2005. se vraća u zemlju i preuzima mesto docenta na Katedri za organsku hemiju Farmaceutskog fakulteta u Beogradu. Izabran je 2007. godine u zvanje vanrednog profesora, a od 2012. godine je redovni profesor na Katedri za organsku hemiju.

Naučno-istraživački interes Vladimira Savića je u oblasti organske sinteze i medicinske hemije.
