CV

Branislava (Todorović) Lakušić graduated and obtained her master's degree at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Belgrade. She defended her doctoral dissertation "Morphological variability and ecological differentiation of species of the genus Teucrium L. (Lamiaceae) in Yugoslavia" in 2000 at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade.

Since January 1985 she has been working at the Institute of Botany, first as an associate, then as a junior  teaching assistant  (1986), assistant (1990), assistant professor (2001), associate professor (2008) and since 2015 as a full professor.

Professor Lakušić teaches obligatory Course of Botany and an elective course entitled Medicinal Plants and the Environment within the study program of integrated academic studies in Pharmacy. She takes part in realization of doctoral studies in the field Pharmacognosy. At the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, she is a lecturer in the course Applied ecology, at the Master’s program.

With her expertise she contributed to a number of doctoral dissertations and was a member of Doctoral Dissertation Defense Committee and M.A. Theses at the Faculties of Pharmacy, Biology and Forestry, University of Belgrade.

Branislava Lakušić's scientific research work is related to the morpho-anatomy of medicinal plants, localization and nature of secretory structures, micro morphological structures important in the identification of medicinal plants, biological function of essential oils, as well as variability of essential oils depending on environmental factors.

She has published over 60 scientific papers and took part in numerous presentations at international and national conferences. She is the co-author of the textbook Botany Pharmaceuticals (2017), the script Medicinal Plants and the Environment (2014) and the practicum in botany for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy (1995-2017) and four monographs of national importance..
