Dr sc. Marija Jovanović was born in 1983 in Belgrade, where she finished elementary and high school. She graduated in 2008 at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade with an average score of 9.58. She defended her PhD thesis in 2016. at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade. She completed postgraduate academic specialization Pharmaceutical Care in 2012, and enrolled the medical specialization Clinical Pharmacy, both at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade, Serbia.

She works at the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Clinical Pharmacy from 2009, first as an associate and an assistant, and since 2017 as an assistant professor. She participates in the preparation and implementation of undergraduate classes in the subject Pharmacokinetics, Selected Chapters in Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Clinical Pharmacy, and specialist academic studies.

She showed scientific interest and improved skills in the following areas: pharmacometry, application of various software in pharmacokinetic modeling and simulations, pharmacogenomics, clinical pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacy - University of Uppsala, University of Ljubljana, University of Lisbon (COST project 16205), on line Pharmacogenomics Certificate program, internship in clinical pharmacy in London hospitals (TEMPUS). During 4-month visit (2018) to the University of Ljubljana, she was trained in pharmacometric modeling of pediatric data. She was a lecturer/moderator and participated in the organization of the virtual school in 2020 (PBPK and PopPK analysis-Tools for understanding absorption variability). Since 2011. she has been involved in national projects/research funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological development, Republic of Serbia. She has participated in several international projects (COST action CA16205, Bilateral project with Slovenia, EDQM project).

She participated in a number of meetings organized by students, and was a mentor of several graduate theses and student research projects. As a member of the Pharmaceutical Association of Serbia, she is engaged in the activities of the Section for Pharmaceutical Care.
