Aleksandra Zeljković graduated in 2000 from the Faculty of Pharmacy University of Belgrade. She acquired her PhD in 2011 at the Department of Medical Biochemistry-Faculty of Pharmacy. She completed specialist academic studies of biochemical diagnostics and obtained a specialist degree in medical biochemistry, as well as sub-specialist degree in laboratory endocrinology. Aleksandra Zeljković has been employed at the Department of Medical Biochemistry-Faculty of Pharmacy since 2000 and she holds a position of an associate professor since 2017. She participates in realization of both theoretical and practical lectures in a number of courses within all levels of education at the Faculty of Pharmacy. She is co-author of one textbook and one workbook for students.

Her main research interest is related to investigations of lipids and lipoproteins metabolism in various chronic diseases, principally in cardiovascular and malignant diseases. Aleksandra Zeljković has been participating as a collaborator in national scientific projects since 2007. She is also engaged in several international projects within the COST initiative. She is a member of the European Network for Oxysterol Research (ENOR). She published more than 60 scientific papers and had a large number of presentations at national and international scientific congresses. She is engaged as a reviewer for several SCI listed journals.

Dr Aleksandra Zeljkovic is engaged in the activities of several working groups and commissions of the Faculty of Pharmacy. She participates in realization of students’ research work, as well as courses of continuing education. She is a member of the Education Committee of the Serbian Biochemical Society, member of the Society of Medical Biochemists of Serbia and the Serbian Society for Mitochondrial and Free Radical Physiology.
